Password Boss

Worked with ROI-DNA (digital agency) & Password Boss, a password manager and digital wallet application

What I did: Information architecture, Interaction design

Project goal

Design a password manager and digital wallet application that is simple to navigate for novice users yet robust enough to handle storing a wide array of personal information.

Competitive analysis + Business requirements

I began by reviewing similar password managers on the market and documenting what worked and didn’t work well from a navigation and usability standpoint.  That analysis combined with business requirements, which included customer recommendations collected by the product owners, lay the foundation for how Password Boss was structured.

Mobile first

Customer insights gathered from the product team prior to the project indicated the majority of users were primarily mobile users.  I incorporated the requirements, analysis, and feedback from team discussions to begin designing the application.  Nearly 100 unique screens with interaction rules were created for the mobile app.

I presented screens and pageflows to the team at ROI-DNA and updated any necessary screens and interaction rules as needed based on feedback.

Partnering with engineering

I followed up by creating wireframes for the tablet and desktop applications as well as an accompanying browser plug-in plus the company’s marketing site.

Throughout the project I worked very closely with the engineering team responsible to explain functionality and ensured any designs I was presenting were doable within the time allocated for the project.

Final thoughts

Once we had approval on the wireframe decks, I collaborated with the UI designer at ROI-DNA as they took screens and created the final visual design assets.

The project had an extremely tight (4 week) deadline but I ensured that I delivered a comprehensive set of wireframes in time without ever sacrificing the core goals of creating a simple, yet feature-rich application.
